Product Ownership or Leadership
We have revamped our classic Scrum Product Owner course with additional challenging topics, the most important being Impact Estimation. We are inviting all our contacts to participate in a couple of interesting days on 2025-03-25/26 or 2025-04-01/02. If you are interested, please indicate which dates would suit you best. The course can also be delivered online.
In this world of ever increasing complexity, the need to develop common understandings of markets, capabilities and constraints is dramatically increasing. Without this, we cannot hope to be able to prioritize for optimal value generation.
The cornerstone of this proposed common understanding is the concept of the “Four Ws” of initiatives:
-
Why – The objectives and values that are desirable, the negatives that need to be stopped or dampened, and the risks that need to be mitigated.
-
Who – The stakeholders in this initiative. Who needs to be satisfied or consulted? How do the different stakeholders view the different objectives? Who values what? Do any stakeholders have “must-have” (or “must-not-have” requirements on objectives or strategies?
-
What – The strategies or avenues of intervention that are possible to deploy or implement, based on the resources available, money, competencies, raw materials, facilities, time, etc.
-
When – Time based constraints, deadlines that have to be met, delivery-out or -in milestones or milestones defined for synchronization purposes.
During the course, the participants will learn how to think in these categories together, how to develop an overview in the form of an Impact Matrix, how to prioritize and how to iteratively maintain it as circumstances unfold.
