This course deals with the challenges of personal sustainable work – especially for those who experience a mixture of long-term focused demands and short-term here-and-now work. It is a half-day or 3-hour online course.

The course addresses the different patterns to follow in order to reduce the cognitive load on the individual. It also tackles special circumstances for people who have particular roles and responsibilities in an organization. Everybody who works partly in a team and partly alone needs an understanding of this challenge and its possible solutions.

Students are taken through the fundamentals of creating a personal work rhythm, separating quick responder work from that which requires uninterrupted focus. This includes using advanced techniques to sort and prioritize requests. A balance between reacting fast and securing times for deep focus and concentration has to be constantly upheld.

A number of different little tools and life hacks are introduced to protect your sanity and ability to function in an ever more complex daily life. How to reduce the risk of falling into cognitive biases for example.

Different roles, executive, owner, etc. present different challenges. An overview is given and practical approaches to organizing personal work and important things to focus on.

Finally, a number of other supporting ideas, tools, and concepts are introduced for further exploration and study.
